Spalted hardwood is generally cut from a naturally cured, dead, or dying hardwood tree. The wood is mostly light in colour and exhibits patterns of dark contrasting crazed lines and figures. These enhancements to the woodgrain are caused by microorganisms or fungi. Hardwoods used for our spalted products are mainly spalted Oak and Spalted beech hardwoods.
