Why Maple Wood?

The surface of maple wood can be easily cleaned due to its fine pore structure. Making Maple less susceptible to water penetration than some other hardwoods. It is often used for tables and wooden chopping boards. Maple wood is easy to work with providing an excellent polished, stained, or hand-painted product.

How To Best Maintain An Arctic Maple Chopping Board

1. Wash your wooden chopping boards in warm soapy water. Rinse the maple chopping board and dry thoroughly with a soft cloth.
2. Fill a large bowl with hot water. Place a bottle of mineral oil into the bowl and let it sit for about 10 minutes or until the bottle feels warm to the touch.
3. Apply a generous amount of the warmed mineral oil onto a soft cloth. Wipe the mineral oil across the entire surface of your wooden chopping board.
4. Let the mineral oil soak into the wooden chopping board for approximately six hours. Remove any excess oil with a soft cloth after the boards have finished soaking.
